Wow what an awesome day we had yesterday out on a snorkeling tour with the manta rays. We were lucky enough to see about 10 different rays, turtles, reef sharks and of course lots of colourful fish and spectacular coral. A must do, we highly recommend doing this.

wow... what a long journey... due to a brakedown of a bus i had to stay one more night at the hostel, i mean yeah... there could be worse places to be stucked honestly than #coralbay🤣 but #integritycoachlines for me is not very reliable and there is nothing of goodwill for such a situation from them... pretty poor and maybe the reason why the westcoast is not yet so travelled and hast still not so many tourists because if the coaches are so unreliable, travelling with limited time gets really difficult... however Jacinta and Dania from the hostel turned the situation into something amazing in offering a FREE night for me 😍😘 thanks again to #ningaloocoralbaybackpackers ... you made my day 😍 and now a long jouney has startet that cost me my Broome and Darwin stay... so heading directly to #katherine more than 40 hours... and to mention it: the busdrivers were awesome and nice but i would not recommend #integritycoach too much if there is any alternative left ... but hey: always look on the bright side of life 😍

We started with 1 and then 2 and then there was 6 , they swam around us for so long it was just incredible! Beautiful clear water, a bit chilly today but it was well worth it. #holidayinwa day 5! This morning we all went out on a glass bottom boat with #ningaloocoralbayboats. I can even explain how amazing it was, the glass floor was great so Claire could see all the fish. Matt and I both went snorkeling as well and what you see Is just so amazing. If you are heading to coral bay I can’t recommend doing this enough, such an incredible experience.
Hopefully we will get some of the go pro footage from the reef up shortly along with the drone footage. We are just editing them at the moment.
After the boat trip when then drove the 2hr trip to Exmouth. Being here is just the relaxed life you would want to live.

My favourite time of year for Manta Rays on the Ningaloo is winter.
Despite year round Manta interactions being a great - with nature it is mostly a lottery. Winter tends to provide a higher rate of Manta Ray ‘mating chains’.
A mating chain is when the female is chased and courted tirelessly by any given number of males hoping to mate with her.
What an experience to witness first hand for myself and all out on tour with boatsningaloocoralbay.
The female in this mating chain is the Melanistic (black) ray at the centre of the image, she was easily 4 metres wide!
Her experience in this situation was evident, as she dodged and weaved in between the customers and I. Displaying incredible spatial awareness and trust in our lack of threat toward her.

Time gets so warped on camping holidays, the earliest one of us (me) went to crack a beer was 10:43 and the earliest we (lach) went to bed was 6:37.
Never better than camping on the edge of the ningaloo, bathing in reefy rock pools, watching eagle rays glide past, finding reef shark nurseries and constant glowing coral. I loved Warroora for the isolation it brought along this phenomenal stretch of coastaline.

Manta Ray experience at Coral Bay, what a perfect day out with Josh, Ash, Fabio and Scott. We saw sting rays, heaps of fish, manta rays, dolphins, turtles, dugongs and a big tiger shark! Wow what an awesome day we had yesterday out on a snorkeling tour with the manta rays. We were lucky enough to see about 10 different rays, turtles, reef sharks and of course lots of colourful fish and spectacular coral. A must do, we highly recommend doing this.
wow... what a long journey... due to a brakedown of a bus i had to stay one more night at the hostel, i mean yeah... there could be worse places to be stucked honestly than #coralbay🤣 but #integritycoachlines for me is not very reliable and there is nothing of goodwill for such a situation from them... pretty poor and maybe the reason why the westcoast is not yet so travelled and hast still not so many tourists because if the coaches are so unreliable, travelling with limited time gets really difficult... however Jacinta and Dania from the hostel turned the situation into something amazing in offering a FREE night for me 😍😘 thanks again to #ningaloocoralbaybackpackers ... you made my day 😍 and now a long jouney has startet that cost me my Broome and Darwin stay... so heading directly to #katherine more than 40 hours... and to mention it: the busdrivers were awesome and nice but i would not recommend #integritycoach too much if there is any alternative left ... but hey: always look on the bright side of life 😍

Day 100 - Ningaloo Coral Bay Manta Ray Tour. Another incredible day on Ningaloo reef. Swimming with manta rays-amazing! We started with 1 and then 2 and then there was 6 , they swam around us for so long it was just incredible! Beautiful clear water, a bit chilly today but it was well worth it. WA is still delivering the goods!

Wow what an awesome day we had yesterday out on a snorkeling tour with the manta rays. We were lucky enough to see about 10 different rays, turtles, reef sharks and of course lots of colourful fish and spectacular coral. A must do, we highly recommend doing this.
wow... what a long journey... due to a brakedown of a bus i had to stay one more night at the hostel, i mean yeah... there could be worse places to be stucked honestly than #coralbay🤣 but #integritycoachlines for me is not very reliable and there is nothing of goodwill for such a situation from them... pretty poor and maybe the reason why the westcoast is not yet so travelled and hast still not so many tourists because if the coaches are so unreliable, travelling with limited time gets really difficult... however Jacinta and Dania from the hostel turned the situation into something amazing in offering a FREE night for me 😍😘 thanks again to #ningaloocoralbaybackpackers ... you made my day 😍 and now a long jouney has startet that cost me my Broome and Darwin stay... so heading directly to #katherine more than 40 hours... and to mention it: the busdrivers were awesome and nice but i would not recommend #integritycoach too much if there is any alternative left ... but hey: always look on the bright side of life 😍

Seeing the big 4 of the ocean is one of the most spectacular things I`ve ever seen in my life! First we saw some humpback whales from very close by and not much later we had the luck to see some killer whales (orcas). And we didn`t know what was yet to come... The spotter plane guided us to the good spots to swim with the incredible whale sharks (biggest fish of the ocean) and like that wasn`t enough... At the end of the day the captain spotted some manta rays, he stopped the boat and let us swim with a huge manta ray. A day I`ll never forget, that`s for sure!

A Ferocious Pufferfish attempting to prey on a (rather unfortunate) Porcupinefish! 😮
Known to be highly aggressive, the aptly-named Ferocious Pufferfish are formidable fish indeed.
But the Porcupinefish isn’t completely defenceless;
capable of inflating itself with water or air to triple its body size, it’s also covered in prickly spines.
That’s one meal that’s sure to go down badly! 😬
And did we mention that both species are highly poisonous? ☠️
Mother Nature sure is amazing. 🤩

The Harlequin Filefish. 💛🩵
These tiny beauties live as pairs or threesomes in amongst the branches of Acropora corals.
They absorb the chemicals of the coral they feed on and take on the corals smell, which masks their scent at night from hungry predators like moray eels and cods. 😮
With their fluttering fins, they often resemble underwater hummingbirds, and are notoriously difficult to photograph, which makes this incredible shot by our onboard photographer @emilieunderwaterphotography all the more impressive! 🤩

The road from Carnarvon to Exmouth via Coral Bay has now reopened. Traffic management is in place due to @mainroadswesternaustralia conducting repairs to the North West Coast Highway. It’s open to light vehicles and 4WDs, with restrictions for heavy vehicles. It will be open from 7am to 5pm daily.

My favourite time of year for Manta Rays on the Ningaloo is winter.
Despite year round Manta interactions being a great - with nature it is mostly a lottery. Winter tends to provide a higher rate of Manta Ray ‘mating chains’.
A mating chain is when the female is chased and courted tirelessly by any given number of males hoping to mate with her.
What an experience to witness first hand for myself and all out on tour with boatsningaloocoralbay.
The female in this mating chain is the Melanistic (black) ray at the centre of the image, she was easily 4 metres wide!
Her experience in this situation was evident, as she dodged and weaved in between the customers and I. Displaying incredible spatial awareness and trust in our lack of threat toward her.

You’ll be working in the heart of the Ningaloo Reef, operating our 12.5m tri-hull catamaran and our 11.5m Glass Bottom Boat, interacting with guests, providing commentary, snorkelling with our visitors and helping showcase an incredible marine environment filled with manta rays, turtles, dolphins & seasonal whale sharks. 🐢🐋

• Master <24m Near Coastal (Master 5) essential

I have been looking for it in every patch of seagrass I came across in my swimming life! So happy to finally be able to spot one drifting with seaweed in the Coral Bay lagoon, I had to blink my eyes couple of times and look again to fully believe I found it!
This odd fish is named after the sargassum sea grass beds it camouflages itself in. The colour can change rapidly to match its surroundings. It is a voracious hunter and will eat other sargassumfish. Sitting very still, the sargassumfish ‘fishes’ with its rod-like illium topped with a lure-like lump. It crawls around the sargassum with its specialized fins, and when threatened, can hop out of the water onto the sea weed mats for extended periods of time.
Always look amongst seaweed, there is a whole world made of great skilled creatures taking advantage of its floatation to save their energies and escape predators.

The road from Carnarvon to Exmouth via Coral Bay has now reopened. Traffic management is in place due to @mainroadswesternaustralia conducting repairs to the North West Coast Highway. It’s open to light vehicles and 4WDs, with restrictions for heavy vehicles. It will be open from 7am to 5pm daily.

Its a holiday destination. It’s made for tourism, not really many locals living here. It’s jam packed in the whale season but apparently quiet in summer.
We loved it here. It’s great for families and kids.
Every day, we just packed everything including the kids into the beach trolley and walked across the road to the beach. The water is so clear and shallow. You can snorkel all day and low tide in the evenings everyone is still out skim boarding, SUP, kids playing.
We also just enjoyed relaxing at the pool whilst Mila made new friends and became more confident in the water.

Manta Rays are globally listed on the IUCN Red List due to a wide range of human-induced threats including the gill plate trade and fishing bycatch.
An ocean without mantas would be devastating indeed, so it’s vital we do all we can to protect these peaceful creatures and their home for generations to come. 🌊

“Amazing day snorkelling with Manta Rays!!”
We spent an awesome day in the sea with all the crew. We saw reef sharks, turtles and of course Manta Rays (3 of them) besides a lot of different fish. All the crew were really attentive and enthusiastic so we felt like at home. We were just 10 people in the boat and therefore the snorkelling was quite good. Thank you very much for such an incredible day!
